MY STORY

Born in 1972, and the youngest of 5 boys, I had my hands full trying to keep up and live up to my family's standards and way of life. At that time, my Mother and Father were working 7 days a week to provide for their large family. My Father took care of the truck and milk deliveries while my Mother took care of the books, phone calls, and us. When we were old enough, it was understood that we were to help out whenever we could. We were a very athletic family and sporting events were always on the calendar along with the business, so there wasn't much time for dawdling. All of us at some time or another would help out. Sometimes before school, during school vacations, and Summer vacations, we would all help by riding with my Father to deliver the products to the customers. Other chores needed to be done too. Yard work, housework, caring for our pets, and even helping out as a mechanic once in while to keep our milk truck rolling. We were never bored, and we were all very close. It was tough at times especially in winter when we'd have to shovel out the truck so my Father could make his deliveries. It was always a family effort.

During my childhood, I grew to appreciate the business and what it had provided for our family. I respected my parents for their sacrifice and their grit. Being raised this way taught me to appreciate the little things. It also taught me how not to quit.

Through the years I helped out when I could. When I was old enough to drive, my Father put me to work on Saturdays and I was able to give him a day off for a year or two. Then I was off to the University of Maine to major in Environmental Science. I received my degree and went looking for work in the field in NJ. After meeting my beautiful future wife, and bouncing around a few years between jobs, a milk route came up for sale in 1998. I was able to purchase the Mettowee Farms milk route out of Upper Saddle River NJ from George and Ray Martin. From that moment, I was on my way to getting married to the love of my life and best friend, Nikki Waples in 2001. We were then able to purchase and move into a beatiful home in Midland Park. Over the next few years I was able to purchase a few other routes including my brother's route and a portion of the Paramus Dairy milk route to help my income. In 2010, my beautiful daughter Maeve was born and for the last 10 years, I've been a very fortunate and proud Father.
